THE DEAD WEIGHT PROJECT
What if our stored emotions and memories held a value of quantitative weight? And if so, how much would a particular emotional burden or experience weigh? Over the course of many months Katelyn collected the equivalent of her body weight in stone. The stones act a proxies for perceptions which were no longer serving, and yet, still holding occupation in her mind and body. Each stone was intuitively selected based on volume and weight, to mirror ‘its’ felt sense within.
In order to fundamentally change and release a belief or behaviour we must first be able to lay witness and develop awareness (phase one). It is only natural then to seek understanding. Eventually, when we are ready, we may finally detach (phase two) and release (phase three). The following is the initial phase of The Dead Weight Project, Phase One: Awareness.
